spent the 23rd and today helping out at some homeless people shelter and I must say I had a good time! there were wayy too many volunteers and too little needy persons, but it's great chatting to people who've come from all walks of life. everyone's so nice and smiley too, yay festive spirit! I had to chat with a few homeless people today, and it really puts one's overly sheltered life into perspective. And makes you feel extremely helpless, because I had absolutely no idea what to talk to them about. You can't ask them where they live, or what they do for a living, and you feel so bad telling them you have an apartment right in central london and study at a university which charges you £14k a year for tuition fees. So you basically just smile at them, stare at your feet and make extremely small talk about london weather.
