Long time no post!

Haha.

Well loads happened last week. Somehow everyone seemed to set to have their birthdays then, so with the birthday presents and dinners I'm super broke haha. But it was fun seeing everyone again! (: I lubbs my friends.

Work work, work would be even more fun without someone, but well without someone we wouldn't have so many things to gossip about in the office. Sometimes I really wish the office dudes were more useful, the only person who seems to know what she's doing is joanne. Which sucks, cos the boss likes to pass his other staff's work for me to do. And not knowing what to do, I'd ask joanne. Who would REFUSE to help me because technically I should ask the other people (whose file I'm holding), since most of the time they're so hopeless they don't do much work anyway. Okay it's not my right to say other people are useless haha I'm not much better! But basically I wouldn't dare ask the other people (enough experience on this when we first came in) so that means I'd be totally helpless ): sigh.

Going to court tmr again! (: Mum is super displeased with me on this, cos this is my second time there with the boss (hehe) but ah well LIFE IS UNFAIRRR.

So many hearings this week. And when he's gone we don't have much work to do, so for this week mum and I are going to lead very boring lives.

Today was the most stressful day ever since council ended.

Oh I went to the hearing with my boss! Haha! He decided it was too important to hand it to someone else. The subcourts is really like a hospital. Must take queue number, then got all those chairs and counters stuff. The hearing was so retarded, we sat in the chambers for 5 minutes only -.- The other side's lawyer asked for an extension -.- Nvm hopefully I can go for the other one as well :D

Went back and was immediately flooded with work for another case. Spent the whole day photocopying stuff, wrongly photocopying stuff, getting scolded, re-photocopying stuff, drafting letters, drafting letters wrongly, getting scolded etc... and it went on and on and we couldn't stop until everything was properly done (at 7pm) cos this hearing's next monday. My boss kept hurrying me and the more he did that the more mistakes I made D: somehow minqi the poor girl got pulled into the whole photocopying and sorting cycle also so both of us were getting scolded lol.

Phew I'm just glad it's over.

I dread tmr though, cos joanne's on sick leave (she could hardly speak today) which means the boss has to rely on us two only. And joanne's usually the one telling me how to do stuff and correcting my mistakes. \:

Hopefully nothing important crops up tmr! Or we DIE.

ps SOME lawyer today damn annoying pls whole day come and kaypo our cases and make redundant remarks -.- grr

RAHHH.

What a horrible end to a good day. And it was going so well! ):

I must rant about my today. It was really a pretty good and normal day, I worked on my cases, only got a few reprimands from the boss and so on.

In the afternoon minqi and I decided to finally ask our boss to bring us to court so we could have a look round. The boss agreed and said there was one hearing this thursday, on one of the interesting cases I've been slaving on for weeks. But because it was a chambers hearing he said there wasn't space for two, so he could only bring one. And duh since I was the one who's worked her arse off on the case I should go with him right? Right. Perfect!

Minqi was DEVASTATED as expected but the boss told her to ask another lawyer working in the firm, since he has many many hearings (and also goes for some for the boss). The only problem with this was.. that this lawyer uh isn't very well liked haha. You won't get what I mean until you see him and hear him speak lah. Yeah so we decided that we would ask him later and if he agreed to bring both of us (me as well cos minqi doesn't want to go alone) all would be good, you know, comfort in numbers.

So the afternoon dragged on. The client on the previous case I mentioned even came down to sign an affidavit, and I sneakily got a peek of him! Okay I was very excited it was like watching a storybook character come to life. A huge angmoh old man with a very pleasant voice haha :D

WHAT could go wrong with the day?

Well, before knocking off work the other lawyer suddenly asked me for that case file, and started shooting questions at me about it. We decided to ask him to bring us to court, since he was talking to us anyway. And then he said that we could come for the hearing on thursday, which HE was attending. When I heard that my eyes almost poppped out. OMG.

The boss cannot do this to me!!!! I want to go to court with him!!!!!! ): Minqi was damn happy when she heard this piece of news please! "You two can decide who to go-" "Oh no no no it's okay she's the one working on this case she should go" -.- pffft.

So now there's this whole confusion about who's going to attend the hearing on thursday, this lawyer or my boss. It wouldn't be too bad if it was just some minor hearing, to get dates or stuff, that didn't require any preparing. The thing is, I was the one who prepared the case arguments for this. And if this lawyer was going to the hearing, he'd have to look at my work. And when he looks at my work tomorrow (THANK GOD joanne turned off the boss' computer before he could retrieve it) he's definitely going to make sarcastic comments about it that's going to piss me off like hell. Which my boss would never do, because at least he knows I'm just an intern who's been there only 1 month. Hello if I could write a perfect submissions piece I wouldn't be interning there or going to law school already. Grr.

I'm going to get to work early tmr and BEG the boss to go to the hearing and never never never let this lawyer go in his place! Or I'll die! An ugly death! I won't turn up for work anymore! Zomg.

Haha minqi's super agitated over this lawyer guy too! He was going on and on about chauvinistic stuff, about how women lawyers were all crap and we shouldn't think about going into this profession. I was just standing there being amused by all this but mum was totally raring to beat him up! Haha!

him: in this profession the men are all womanizers and the women all play with men... (blah blah goes on abt how everyone steals money and are all bad guys)
her: so which one are you?

him: 90% of the women lawyers are no good, believe me
her: so why can't we be the 10%??

AND SO ON I can't remember anything much except wanting to run away and finding this whole thing ridiculously funny. Though I probably won't think that tmr when I get scolded for my lousily done submissions :\

Sigh. I totally can't wait to get to work tmr -.-

Joanne promises to come early to see me go down on my knees begging the boss to get the case back. Pooh. Great friends.

401 gathering today at sarah tai's house :D

I think everyone was surprised at the rather large turnout haha!

But OH MAN everyone is growing up. Meilyn's already done her first year in med sch in melbourne. Marese is going over next week as well to take her vet courses. And I hear the other aussie friends (steph teong + nat + nicole) are also done with their first uni year already! Of course, there's still the rest of us struggling with internships and slave-labour pay haha.

I suddenly feel this huge wave of NOSTALGIA. We're really old fogeys now I can't believe it. I was staring at adults on the mrt today trying to imagine that they've been kids once. And wondering how it can seem so easy for so many of them to enter into the real world knowing they'll be waking at 8 and leaving for home at 6 every morning, every evening, like a routine forever.

I guess the great thing in life is that we all learn to adapt pretty fast. Time moves along so quickly there never is time to stop and wallow in your own world, because nobody cares for that. So we, I, just follow along, living each day not knowing what the next entails.

But occasionally someone from your past world decides to come into your present, and all the memories flood back.

Now there are a million reasons for you to go

Hahaha zomg COME FULL CIRCLE for a second time, you know the old fogeys who just can't let go of the past. I MISS SCHOOL. And I miss having friends around!!

Today was swarming with j3s!

Yes okay that's all but I really missed my friends!

Oh work today was damn no deal. I mean it's still fun and we laughed alot as usual but got alot of stuff that made me wanna foam and die off -.-

My doggy is still lost and I'm still sad ): But ah well.

My brother is in mt10! haha so cool.

Work has been fun these days. My boss still complains I don't take care of him at all, but I'm kinda getting into tandem with the business better. And the office still provides me with much entertainment.

After work today nette nick and I went to have dinner at ye wei's workplace. Haha I miss all my friends. Can't wait till friday= Onite! So fun everyone will be there :D
